Rua Paim, 235 (1984 - 1985)

Jaime Ponciano aka Jaime Silva lived at unit # 2012 in a block of flats on Rua Paim, 235 circa 1984-1985. The warrenlike building known popularly as 'treme-treme' (tremble-totter) was affordable housing for a growing low-middle class that found themselves stuck in a recessionist economy that had stopped growing in the early 1980s.

''Edificio 14 Bis', the main building, named after a neighbouring square called 'Praça 14 Bis', was designed by Aron Kogan and built in 1955. Soon after a smaller oval building called 'Demoiselle' following the same curving shape was built adjoining it. It is 499 flats where up to 1,700 people live as if it were an independent city.
