Colours & textures Jaime would most likely love...

I have to confess I'm not an artist and I don't know much about Art. I met Jaime Ponciano when he was still in his teens (1980) and due to my association with him I ended up learning something about Art. Not much tough!

Looking at some photos I have taken in Sydney recently I could not but think about what Jaime would think about them... Here are some of those photos:

Geranium was probably Jaime's favourite flower... I'm pretty sure about that.
an orange tinted geranium.
I'm not really sure the name of this lovely bush is Red Buckeye (Aesculus pavia) Horse Chestnut family (Hippocastanaceae). I beg your pardon if I'm mistaken.

Strelitzia Royal  is the unofficial name of Royal bird or Bird of Paradise, a  marvelous flower.
I know this is originally from Brazil... it was introduced in Australia and regretted bitterly because it usually kills the native flora... Lantana camara (common lantana) is a species of flowering plant within the verbena family (Verbenaceae), native to the American tropics. Other common names of Lantana camara include big-sage (Malaysia), wild-sage, red-sage, white-sage (Caribbean), korsu wiri or korsoe wiwiri (Suriname), tickberry (South Africa), West Indian lantana, umbelanterna and Gu Phool in Assam, India.

Orange-colour orchidaceae or orchid flower.

Tibouchinas flower or purple glory tree flower is common garden tree in Australia. Scientific name: Tibouchina granulosa. Other common names are princess flower and glory bush.
yellow daisies...
these yellow beauties must be dahlias or their close relatives...
Jaime had a marked preference for yellow.

Celosia is a small genus of edible and ornamental plants in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. The generic name is derived from the Ancient Greek word κήλεος (kḗleos), meaning "burning", and refers to the flame-like flower heads. Species are commonly known as woolflowers, or, if the flower heads are crested by fasciation, cockscombs. The plants are well known in East Africa's highlands and are used under their Swahili name, mfungu.

Jaime was really keen on textures of any king. I'm pretty sure he'd love this sage (salvia).
a cross from a grave at Botany Bay Cemetery... Jaime would love this texture

Times of Jaime's life...

These here photos were sent to me by Tina Brown circa 2010, saying she had been going through old photos of hers and came across some of Jaime's and Myself (Luiz Amorim). As I stopped using my Hotmail account I've forgot all about them but now here they come as a blast from the past and it's real good to see Jaime and other people again...

Even though it was late December, it was a little cold... very unusual for this time of the year.
